WingIt — Guess Flight Route

Getting Started

  1. Open WingIt — the map shows real aircraft flying over the US right now.
  2. Tap Start Game. You get 5 flights per game.
  3. For each flight, read the clues — the plane’s position, heading, airline, altitude, and speed — then pick its ORIGIN → DESTINATION from four options.
  4. A correct guess wins the route’s full distance in miles. Longer routes, bigger bragging rights.
  5. Sweep all five for the water salute. 🎉

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are the planes real? A: Yes. Every aircraft you see is real and airborne at that moment. Positions come from community ADS-B networks and refresh every few minutes.

Q: Can an answer be wrong? A: Rarely, yes. Airlines occasionally reuse a flight number for a different route on the same day, and no free data source catches every case. That’s why every answer has a FlightAware link — tap it to see the real flight and judge for yourself.

Q: It says “No signal / Couldn’t reach live traffic.” A: WingIt needs an internet connection to fetch live flights. Check your connection and tap Try Again. If your connection is fine and the problem persists, the flight service may be briefly catching up — it usually recovers within a few minutes.

Q: Do I need an account? A: No. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and nothing to log into.

Q: Where are my stats and history stored? A: On your device. If you’re signed into iCloud, your stats and game history also sync privately through your own iCloud to your other devices — we never see them. You can wipe everything with Reset statistics & history in Settings.

Q: Why only US flights? A: WingIt quizzes routes between US airports — that’s where the community flight data is deepest and the guessing game plays best.

Q: Why do I mostly see major airlines? A: Regional carriers (SkyWest, Republic, and friends) fly routes even avgeeks can’t guess, so games include at most one.
