ADS-B Menu
Last updated: May 8, 2026
ADS-B Menu is a macOS menu bar app that displays live aircraft data from your own local PiAware or dump1090-fa receiver. Your privacy is important, and this app is built with a privacy-first approach.
We do not collect any data. Specifically:
ADS-B Menu communicates only with the receiver IP address you configure on first launch (typically a Raspberry Pi on your home network or one reachable through a Tailscale tailnet). The app polls the receiver’s aircraft.json and status.json endpoints over your local network or VPN. No external servers are contacted.
App settings (your receiver IP, polling interval, theme preference) are stored locally on your device using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
This app is appropriate for all ages. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect any information from any user.
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page and update the date above.
